2003 Workshop participant and UNSW Associate Professor Graham Bell is transforming laboratory results into a successful technology business. His company, E-Nose Pty Ltd, specialises in developing industry-specific devices for continuous monitoring of airborne chemicals in real-time.
The Workshop helped Professor Bell create a business to design, manufacture and distribute equipment to measure smells. Professor Bell commented, “The Workshop was an ideal way for me to make the transition from a research project in a scientific environment to a business. Its expert mentors and lecturers provided me with precise information on a range of key topics that removed the barriers to establishing my business and allowed my company to survive the start-up years and move quickly to making our first sales.”
Professor Bell added, “For me, the Workshop’s crowning achievement was when we put a ‘Made in Australia’ sticker onto our first exported device.”
