Small Business on the Money

Annandale training and events company Kite Events won award for Best Financial Plan at the 2009 Enterprise Workshop Awards Night. The Kite Events team looked at how their businesses could grow and develop in the professional training and conferences industry. The winning teams were selected by an independent panel of senior business people.

Director of Kite Events Shubangi Paheerathan said, “The NSW Enterprise Workshop allowed us to work on the strategy for our business with schedules and submissions to the judging panels forcing us to spend time ‘working on’ the business rather than ‘in it’.”

Kite Learning and Events specialises in customised training solutions and professional development seminars for the construction and engineering industries in such areas as law, project management and written and verbal communication. Its flagship course, the Contract Management master class, is attended annually by senior project managers and engineers from such organisations as Leighton Contractors, Abigroup, Arup, United Group and numerous councils and government departments.

For more than 20 years, the NSW Enterprise Workshop has helped create and develop successful businesses. Senior business people volunteer their time and expertise as speakers, mentors and review panellists to guide participants through a structured business analysis and planning process to prepare high quality business plans.
