ResMed wins Three Awards

The winners of the NSW Enterprise Workshop Awards where announced last night with Bella Vista company ResMed taking out the three awards including for Best Business Plan for the Winter Program .The local team of ResMed comprised of Benedict Tan, Claire Robinson, Gemma Au-Yeung, Huw Thomas and Joel Gibson. The winning teams were selected by an independent panel of senior business people.

“We’re thrilled to have our teams win three of the eight awards at the 2009 Enterprise Workshop Awards, including the major award for Best Business Plan,” says ResMed Chief Operating Officer, Rob Douglas. “The win underscores the value ResMed places on the business and people skills that our employees learn by taking part.”

“Participation in a Workshop is considered a privilege and the standard of projects completed is extremely high. The Workshop is a great tool for building employee self confidence, getting teams to tackle ResMed business and marketing issues to find real-world solutions that they can pitch to the executive team.” Mr Douglas said.

The ResMed is an Australian company which is the market leader in developing, manufacturing and marketing products for the screening, treatment and long-term management of sleep-disordered breathing and other respiratory disorders. The business plan that the ResMed team developed throughout the program focused on the sleep apnea market in the United States. The team’s plan is to develop an innovative product range to complement Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices that treat sleep apnea. .

The ResMed team member Claire Robinson said at the awards night, “The NSW Enterprise Workshop was a great opportunity to broaden our business acumen and to network with people from various backgrounds. We enjoyed learning from the lecturers, mentors and judges’ experience and we recommend anyone who wants to start or further develop their business to attend this program.”
